Aloha! Sometimes as a photographer, you're lucky to stumble across serendipitous opportunities and pure wedding magic. Kara and I grew up together in Lubbock and I was completely flattered when she asked me to be her photographer. When she mentioned her and Vincent's wedding would take place in Maui, I could't wait to document their special day in such an incredible desitnation. Between this beautiful couple and the Hawaiian paradise, I was in heaven everywhere I turned.
HAD&P featured in The Knot Texas
I'm was so honored when The Knot Texas contacted me to feature Emily and Russ's beautiful Hill Country Wedding in PRINT!! Their magical day filled with whimsical yellow, natural kraft, and bold black & white stripes has left an imprint on my heart ever since last June. This classic occasion is still one of my very favorite weddings I've photographed and I'm so thankful The Knot Texas felt that same appeal. I'm forever grateful to the sweet bride Emily for her wonderful design eye and precious personality. A favorite for sure. Enjoy!
Kara + Vincent
Vince & Kara are family friends of ours from Lubbock. Kara and I have grown up together since we were in kindergarten, so it's a complete honor to be part of this season in her life. Nothing makes me more joyful than seeing an old friend find such happiness. These two plan to tie the knot in Maui this December and I'm over the moon to be their wedding photographer. A Hawaiian destination wedding has always been on my bucket list, and photographing these two friends just sweetens the deal!!
Emily + Russ, San Antonio Wedding Photography
This incredible wedding was such a breath of fresh air. Emily and I were KKGs together back in college and have known each other for quite some time. When she asked me to be a part of her lovely La Cantera wedding weekend, I couldn't resist!! Ever since I got her adorable invitation in the mail (great work White Sparrow Design), I was hooked on this wedding scheme. I'm a sucker for black and white stripes, and the hints of yellow & gold sealed the deal. It was a recipe for success! Emily & Russ are as thoughtful as they come. They made us feel like we were part of the wedding and constantly shared their appreciation. I'm so incredibly blessed to have clients and friends with such substance. You guys are very loved and it was a complete honor to share this day with you. All the best!!
Thanks to the fun and fabulous Carmen Evans for traveling as my second shooter.
Native Texas Styled Shoot with Lindsey Zamora featured on Ruffled!
I'm so excited to share that HAD&P and Lindsey Zamora have been featured on Ruffled today!! Go over and check it out to see this amazing shoot styled and creatively directed by the ultimate creative genius, Lindsey Zamora. Lindsey and I worked hard to create a shoot that encompassed raw Texas landscape infused with hints of native influence. The shoot exhibits classic refined elements paired with an edgy and southwestern concept, appropriately on trend. We had a blast working together on every detail of the creative design and became fast friends on our weekend getaway to our family ranch in Post, Texas where we photographed the setup. Lindsey's amazing husband Robert Zamora provided the intricate wood work you see throughout the shoot. This dynamic couple designed the cake stand and table topper out of wood to be modularly placed underneath the fine china, creating the most perfect juxtaposition. I'm so thankful to all of our fantastic vendors who collaborated with us on this shoot. Kelly Marble of College Flowers out of Lubbock Texas supplied us with the most beautiful blend of soft unique florals with touches of succulents and dusty miller. One of our favorite surprises was the unexpected and oversized agave leaf he used as the center piece of the table scape. Lauren Essl of Blue Eye Brown Eye supplied us with the most unique calligraphy and vintage stamps. Her wonderful penmanship is an art form we were thankful to incorporate as it gave the shoot an underlying elegance paired with the graphic letterpress designs by Bella Figura. My sweet friend Traci Robinette and her husband Clay volunteered to be our models and did a fantastic job despite the unseasonable chilly weather! Traci's mom Marla Felton from Lubbock designed the beautiful wedding cake and is one talented lady with baked goods!! Thanks to Suite 206 for lending us the ahhhhh-mazing lucite ghost chairs and Gloss Luxury Rentals for the copper cake table. We love love love this shoot and hope you do to!!
HAD&P Wedding Graphic Design (From Fun to Formal)
Today's post is written by Elizabeth Locke, a freelance writer and blogger. When Megan and Clayton announced Charleston, South Carolina as their destination wedding location, HAD&P was honored and excited to design a full package of invitations, ranging from the bachelorette party to hospitality cards to the wedding program.
Megan’s wedding colors were navy and coral. Navy is a classic color that incorporated the natural aspects of the sea and harbor into the wedding theme. Coral accents brightened the theme through flowers and decorations. The color combination created striking invitations, save the date cards and welcome brochures that reflected the bride’s chic taste. Pineapples were included in the designs as a welcoming motif, representing hospitality and southern charm.
From the engagement to the wedding weekend, HAD&P designed the following to celebrate the couple:
- Save the date
- Personalized stationary and thank you cards
- Bachelorette party invitations
- Kitchen shower invitations and coordinating recipe cards
- Cocktail party invitations
- Welcome party invitations and brochure
- Wedding program
These beautiful save-the-date cards were designed to communicate important wedding details to guests. The tri-fold included geometric prints and accents of lace.
The kitchen shower invitations and recipe cards were fun, bright and festive.
The nautical themes extended to the cocktail, bachelorette and welcome party invitations.
The navy and cream wedding programs were enhanced by lace accents on the front.
Congratulations to the wonderful couple! We loved celebrating this special time with you. To see more, check out Megan and Clayton's engagement photos and bridal photos.
HAD&P Weddings of 2012
It is officially March 1st and I'm finally getting a second to take a look back and reflect on all the beautiful HAD&P weddings of 2012!! Whew, what a year it was. Between having a baby, moving, and re-establishing in a new town, there was no time to spare! 2012 was a year full of change and growth and I cannot wait to use what I've learned and apply it to all the new and upcoming ventures of 2013. Below is a quick glance back at the weddings of 2012. I am beyond humbled and eternally grateful to have played a small role in each one of these beautiful occasions. Thank you to all the wonderful couples who have trusted me to document their precious weddings.

The new Mrs. Sordini
They say in your lifetime you'll be able to count your best friends on one hand. Well Megan is my number one, my index finger, my numero uno. She is seriously my go to best friend whether rain or shine. We've known each other since 2nd grade and have been inseparable since. Well, actually that's not true. We've been separated by houses far apart during our childhood, different campuses in our college years, and different cities in our early adult years. In fact up until two months ago Megan and I never had proximity on our side and still managed to talk at least five times a week, sometimes even five times a day!! We have an understanding with one another and really treat each other more like sisters than friends.
We've always said we want to have kids near each other and own neighboring lake houses!! It seemed far fetched, but now that we are in the same town it may all just work out!! You can imagine our excitement when Ryan was placed at JPS in Fort Worth for his residency. Megan and I have never been so pumped!! We knew that living in the same town would mean actually shopping together instead of sending text pictures to ask if "these pants are dorky", and it would mean actually going out together instead of just the late night calls to ramble about how much fun our evenings had been. Truth be told, we're just best friends, period.
I was so honored to be the matron of honor at her charming Charleston, SC wedding. I would have LOVED to photograph the entire event, but knew that it was more important to sit back and sink in all the love and joy of the day first hand and not behind a lens. I did manage to sneak a few details of the day while we were getting ready and have shared them below. Megan asked me to take her bridals, which of COURSE I would never pass up. Megan has the most classic and timeless taste and I just love everything she selected from the dress to the venue to the man. Her sweet hubby Clayton is responsible for the Valentinos you see below.....he's knows a thing or two about making Megan a happy bride!! Love this couple and LOVE this sweet girl. Meet my best friend Megan Sordini.
