This precious thing is as sweet as she looks! I've had the pleasure of working with Mallory's amazing family before and was very excited to take her adorable senior/rush pictures before she heads off to the University of Texas. You my dear are going to have the time of your life. All the best moving forward, you are a doll!!
Braden, Fort Worth Senior
My cousin Braden is beautiful, fun and beyond talented & I can't even believe it is her senior year of high school here in Fort Worth! She is a triple threat when it comes to singing, acting, and dancing and she's on the hunt for the perfect college to cultivate her numerous talents. Remember this face, I promise you will see her again. Braden, I can't wait to watch what the world has in store for you. Love you!!
Elizabeth + Ryan, East Texas Wedding Photography
Understated elegance is what comes to mind when I think of the new Mrs. Ryan Baumgardner. She is a class act and a dear KKG sister of mine. My heart always melts when sweet friends from my past ask me to photograph their weddings. There is no greater compliment than knowing they trust me to capture the love and emotion of the most special day of their life. Elizabeth and Ryan are truly a perfect match and accent one another in such a wonderful way. I've loved getting to watch these two navigate their wedding bliss as I've had the pleasure of documenting their engagement, bridals, and now this lovely east Texas wedding. Godspeed you two.
Thanks to my sweet friends Brittany Jones for second shooting!! You are too much fun to work with and I appreciate your hard work more than you know!!
Elizabeth, East Texas Bridal Photography
Words cannot describe the kind heart of this precious bride. Elizabeth and I were Kappas together in college and I was beyond thrilled to share in her joyous wedding day this past weekend in East Texas. I've been holding these beautiful images until today and now am proud to present the new Mrs. Ryan Baumgardner. You are a class act Elizabeth. Thanks for thinking of me to be part of your wonderful wedding. Sneak peek to come very soon!
Chad + Kristi, Fort Worth Engagement Photography
When my cousin Chad and his beautiful fiancé Kristi asked me to take their engagement photos, my heart skipped a beat!! Kristi is the face of Xen Tan and an experienced model, so you can imagine how flattered I was when she chose me as her engagement photographer!! These two are obviously stunning at first glance, but the best part about them is how much fun they are!! We seriously laughed our way through the entire session and I left feeling so happy at what a perfect match they are. They are the essence of a beautiful couple to their core and the shoot was so effortless and natural. I'm beyond grateful that they trusted me to document such a fun moment in their lives. All the best in your beautiful future together; you guys are truly wonderful.
Maggie + Alan, Fort Worth Engagements
Being what I still call "new" to Fort Worth certainly has its perks...one of which, is getting to meet fun new friends! Working with Maggie and Alan was such a treat. These two are some of the most laid back people I've ever had in front of my camera, and their easy going nature was so refreshing. I'm looking forward to their Fort Worth wedding this October!
Paul + Kat, Dallas Engagement
I'm so excited to be photographing Kat & Paul's wedding festivities this coming June!! These two are so much fun and Paul certainly gets the award for funniest groom yet. He had us laughing the entire afternoon. Kat & Paul are certainly in for a future full of laughter and fun!! I'm so thankful to have reconnected with sweet Kat, she is a gem and I adore everything about her! Enjoy their fun & flirty engagement session!!
HAD&P Weddings of 2012
It is officially March 1st and I'm finally getting a second to take a look back and reflect on all the beautiful HAD&P weddings of 2012!! Whew, what a year it was. Between having a baby, moving, and re-establishing in a new town, there was no time to spare! 2012 was a year full of change and growth and I cannot wait to use what I've learned and apply it to all the new and upcoming ventures of 2013. Below is a quick glance back at the weddings of 2012. I am beyond humbled and eternally grateful to have played a small role in each one of these beautiful occasions. Thank you to all the wonderful couples who have trusted me to document their precious weddings.

Sarah + Carter, Oklahoma City Wedding Photography
Moving to Fort Worth has been a blessing in many way. I love our new house, I love the city of Fort Worth, but most of all I love my new friends!!! I met Sarah through my best friend Megan and am so grateful for the connection. She is such a breath of fresh air and has an incredibly sweet disposition. A fellow young entrepreneur herself, Sarah owns an adorable paperie/gift store on Cow Town's most happening boulevard, Camp Bowie. You may remember seeing some of her beautiful merchandise from the Inscriptions on the Blvd blog post back in November. Needless to say I was so humbled and honored when someone with such great taste and high expectations asked me to photograph her wedding!! To refresh your memory, check out Sarah and Carter's adorable engagement session from this past fall.
The wedding took place in Oklahoma City and was a lovely event from start to finish. Sarah styled the day with tasteful whites, subtle purples (for the couples love of TCU) and touches of timeless elegance intertwined with a modern flair. Sarah and Carter have been together all through college and fit one another just perfectly. I loved hearing about their fun background & courtship throughout the weekend, particularly at the rehearsal dinner!! They have a hysterical group of friends who made their way to OKC to help this dynamic duo celebrate their big day. There was never a dull moment and it's one of the most fun weddings I've had the pleasure of shooting. A big thanks to Britt Jones for being my second, you are so much fun my friend! Also, thanks to Sarah and Carter for including me on such a wonderful wedding weekend. I can't wait to make more fun memories now that we all live in the same city!! Wishing you the happiest of marriages you two!
Sarah + Matthew, a Dallas Wedding
This wedding was lovely in every way. I'm currently a big fan of succulents, earth tone linens, and shades of poppy splashed with Tiffany blue. Sarah and Matthew are a match made in heaven. In fact, Matthew is the cousin to one of my best childhood friends, Meg. We used to always joke about the Hall brothers who happened to be twins and whose pictures were displayed on their family fridge. Since 7th grade, all of our friends secretly had imaginary weddings planned with one of the two. When Sarah asked me to photograph her wedding I had never met the groom. We had our initial meeting and she showed me a picture of Matt and I just knew he looked so familiar. Ha, little did I know he was the man behind that very refrigerator picture at Meg's house from so many years ago!! It is such a small world and I feel so fortunate to know Sarah. She and my brother were friends all through school and she is a true gem of a bride. She is so soft spoken and as sweet as she looks. It was a joy to be at their ceremony, as it was one of the sweetest I've seen yet. Thank you both for including me on your wedding day and best wishes in the future!
Celina + Wes San Antonio Wedding
Celina and Wes were blessed with a beautiful wedding day in the heart of San Antonio. There is nothing better than a fall wedding with what feels like summer weather! We were fortunate to have the beautiful golden hues that November light has to offer, paired with the warm sun-kissed temperatures of the South. Celina and Wes have known each other practically all their lives and were high school sweethearts. Celina attended TCU and Wes went to A&M, but they still managed to maintain a relationship that would make it to the altar after all these years!! These two are truly so in love and are a stunning couple in every way. They were surrounded by wonderful friends and family who showed up to support and celebrate this union in style. The reception was unreal and the Garza's hosted an elegant seated dinner and an incredible party accompanied by the band The Pictures (who played at our wedding in 2009, truly the best wedding band around)! It was a joy to see Celina and Wes so happy and in love. Weddings like this just confirm why I love photography so much.
Mrs. Goetz
I just came back across this little gem of a bridal session and realized I hadn't blogged it!! Elizabeth is such a fun and eclectic bride and I just love her taste. She has the coolest ring I've seen hands down, I just love it. Also, she wins the best bridal bouquet so far. The bold mix of colors makes me so happy, and we all have College Flowers to thank for that!! Elizabeth and Ben tied the knot back in March (you can see that post here) and have been living happily ever after since. Cheers to a beautiful bride and a very happy marriage.
Neely + Cody
I simply adore this couple!! Neely and Cody are just as sweet as they look, and I'm so excited to be photographing their Hill Country wedding at the end of October. Their engagement session was such a breath of fresh air and I cannot wait to see what this beautiful couple has in store for their big day. Until then, enjoy this very romantic engagement session.
HAD&P featured on Midland Living cover
I'm so thrilled to share the news that HAD&P has been featured on the cover of Midland Living magazine!! Beautiful bride Megan Hale Trotter was a pristine pick for the winter 2011 edition & exudes bridal bliss throughout the issue. You may remember her bridal session from last spring, it's one of my favorites. A big thanks to everyone involved in the feature- it turned out wonderful and we are so excited to be a part of it all!!
HAD&P Featured on Style Me Pretty Texas!
I'm so thrilled to share with you guys that we've been featured on the adorable go-to wedding blog- Style Me Pretty: Texas!! You all probably remember my wedding debut from Fredericksburg with Charla & Jon Lee back in March. The amazing florist from this event, Melanie Tipton from Last Petal in Austin, Tx contacted me and suggested I submit these images to Style Me Pretty. Little did I know they would actually pick up the post the very next week!! This quaint Texas wedding was every photographer’s dream come true. All the details and romantic touches seemed to come straight from a J.Crew or Anthropologie ad campaign. The wedding was so classic, so charming, and so quaint. The union took place at the Hoffman Haus in Fredericksburg, Texas & was a complete success. Wedding coordinator Luis Carmona was exceptional and made sure each intricate detail was executed properly. He was absolutely amazing to work with & he certainly kept Amy-Rose and I laughing the entire day.
The decorations from this event were just perfection and the bride and her family worked diligently to make sure each significant detail came together swimmingly. The candle and tree stump centerpieces were actually hand cut by the bride's mom. The trees came from the bride's grandfather's field. The signs that have the cities where their families traveled from are actually wood slats from the her grandfather's barn also and were hand painted by her mom.
My fabulous second shooter Amy-Rose King, of Amy-Rose King Photography, shot along side me at this wedding and contributed some phenomenal images. The flowers were provided by Last Petal out of Austin, Texas and provided fresh, soft and elegant touches to the vintage backdrop. The wedding was the absolute picture of romance set alongside a true Texas treasure, The Hoffman Haus.
Last but not least, an immense thank you to the bride & groom, Charla & Jon Lee. I'm so very appreciative to have been included in your beautiful wedding. You made my job so easy, but most importantly, so fulfilling!! Cheers to you, your happy marriage, and your beautiful wedding!!
You can see the entire post at Style Me Pretty: Texas. Be sure and leave us some LOVE!!
Amy-Rose King, as sweet as her name sounds.
This is a quick one, but I just wanted to thank Amy-Rose King for taking her precious time to interview me a couple weeks ago (I'm obviously behind on blogging!). Amy is seriously an inspiration to me in so many ways. Yeah yeah, I know people say this a lot, but I really mean it with this girl. We met at Starbucks two weeks ago to talk shop, and later found ourselves almost 3 hours into a conversation much deeper than photography. Oh, but let me back track to the start of our little date. I'm running 7 minutes late (a sad but very constant signature trait of mine) and rushed into a spot right off the main street running parallel to Starbucks (Milwaukee for you Lubbockites). I'm feeling cute in my new Zara blazer, skinny jeans, and black pleather boots (buy one pair, get one free at Charlette Rouse!). I rush out of my car and slip on the only patch of ice left un-thawed in the parking lot and COMPLETELY bust on the pavement! The only pain I felt was that of my ego, and it hurt. Not knowing if anyone caught a glimpse, I laughed awkwardly to myself and walked inside hoping Amy hadn't seen. Let's face it, being 5'10 (and walking in cheap plastic boots) comes with some serious coordination issues. Luckily Amy didn't see me bust, but when I reached out to shake her hand and had gravel impaled in my palms...I had to fess up. Telling her of my fall actually "broke the ice" for our interview!
I fell in love with Amy after the first 10 minutes. She is cool, calm & collected without being intimidating. She was sweet to share tips and tricks of the trade and even offered to shoot a wedding with me in Fredericksburg coming up in the spring. I'm so excited to learn from her, especially on the wedding circuit. One of her best friends Ashley Rodgers, who I've gotten the pleasure of knowing (and love) through my brother with their previous pole-vaulting ties, met up with us for some caffeine and conversation as well. Both of these photographers have incredible work and better yet, are just fun girls to be around. Check them out: Amy-Rose King Blog, Amy-Rose King Website, & Ashley Rogers blog
Also, see my interview with Amy-Rose on her blog. Be sure to peruse around the other Lubbock photographers while you're at it, this town has some serious talent. You will be amazed with Amy's work and the talent she displays through her blog. Not to mention she's a mom and works part time at the hospital! Seriously? I'm tired just thinking of her work load, and to 'crown' it all (yes, that's her logo and I'm forcefully using it as a pun), she makes time to interview AND photograph new photographers to introduce them to the local photography market... she is a true JEWEL! Thanks so much Amy :)

the big debut
I truly cannot believe it! After passing out about 50 business cards with an inactive website address and contact email, I finally found the time to make my website & professional blog LIVE! I know I know- I told most of you it would be finished about a month ago, and you can thank my annoying OCD personality for that. However I hope it is well worth your wait. It certainly is for me :)
I started taking pictures for hire this past August and haven't batted an eyelash since. This whole new venture has just snowballed and completely gone viral and I have all of you to thank for it! It has been with the help of my friends, family, and patient husband that I have been able to jump head first into this new chapter of my life. A HUGE thanks goes out to Kristin Bednarz, who without her I would still be metering my shots the longest way possible! She has completely given me confidence and guidance through this entire process and has devoted her precious time to help a friend. I still can't believe that it was only three months ago that I was contemplating going back to school to get my masters in environmental design. Funny how someone else's plan always ends up taking precedence over my own (thanks there God- you really know what your doing!). So much has happened in this past three months that I almost feel I should devote my next blog post to recapping this crazy journey. Maybe I'll do that when it's not 2:45 in the morning.....
That's it for tonight....I'm not even going to post any pictures quite yet, instead I think I'll just bask in the glory of my fresh new clean blog! Don't worry, if anyone IS actually interested in what Ryan and I are up to, I will still be posting personal family blog entries to our little family blog. Here's to the future and lot's of potential laughter, memories, and friendships to come!
Life's a flash, capture accordingly.
Heather.
